What's up?

We've been busy around here.... sort of. More of "this and that" kind of stuff. We tried a second church here in our town on Sunday. It was a  "mega church" that had a Starbucks in it. I kid you not! Although large, the preaching was good, and it was run like a well-oiled machine. They had several different stations to check your child in and you couldn't get them out without your sticker with a code on it. Allyson also had to sign in as a junior higher so they knew where she was at all times. They had a great kids program. Allyson even attended a youth group night Sunday night with her friend down the street.

By the way, the myth that homeschoolers are "unsocialized" is so very wrong. Allyson hasn't even been here a month. She goes to soccer practice twice a week and sees new friends, hangs out with her new friend down the street regularly, has already attended a youth group activity! That's just a start!

Sorry, got side tracked. Where was I? Oh! The church. The size and organization reminded us of our campus church back in college. On Saturday, Eric was golfing so the kids and I visited the Crawfish Festival here in town. The kids had a great time and we got to know what is in the community a bit more.

We've been eating out  (on the movers) a lot! Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Changs along with the Old Spaghetti Factory...... I'm sure Eric and I will have a waist to show for it. Thankfully the weather is gorgeous and I was able to go out for a long walk. Allyson and Eric went out for a run together. My goodness, that girl can run. She looked like she faired a little better than Eric too!

We've got our library cards and checked out books today. With your library card, you get free passes once a year to the museums in the Portland area!  I'll be taking advantage of that!

Our movers will be here on Wednesday which was verified again today.  It's really hard to feel settled when you don't have your things so I'm looking forward getting everything in it's place. Omi is coming in Wednesday for a visit too. I'm sure she'll be a big help!

At least you are getting to eat out ~ all those places are ones that we only visit when we have a giftcard...
